Extremely durable non-stick saucepans with detachable handles.
SKK of Germany produce a range of cookware which has a tough titanium based non-stick coating. It is tough enough to allow the use of metal implements and most items in the range have removable handles, allowing their use in the oven and making storage easier.

I’ve saved up to buy quite a few pans from SKK after my experience with using the first of them. They’re quite heavy, feel indestructable, and are pretty versatile with their detachable handles, meaning you can place them and lift them from a hot oven relatively easily. They’re possibly not the most attractive things to look at, but I’m following function instead of form and haven’t been disappointed.

I made the mistake of buying the SKK Pan for my wife because I burnt the bottom of her favourite milk pan whilst boiling an egg (True!). She is a very keen cook, and having used this SKK pan now wants to build up a set …. so I’m buying one a month. If my wife thinks they’re good believe me they must be. She won’t let me try boiling eggs in it though.

A top quality hand blender from Bamix.
Bamix has the reputation for producing high quality, durable electricals and this blender endorsed by Gordon Ramsey is no exception. Expect to keep and use this for many years
John Hoskins reviewed his Bamix Gordon Ramsey Blender on Richmond Cookshop
Compared to the hand blenders I have had before this is in a class of its own. When making vegetable soup the effect was incredibly light and fluffy. It feels solid and well made so I am hoping for a long life as most people on the forums I have looked at claim.

Alan Silverwood Cake Tins and Bakeware – the benefits
Very briefly – aluminium is an excellent heat conductor.
This ensures rapid and even heat distribution across the entire surface of your bakeware.
Added benefits inlcude, excellent release properties, and an easy clean surface.
Alan Silverwood Cake Tins – need to be greased before use
Before adding your mixture, you must add a thin layer of oil or grease, to the inside of the pan.
This will aid the release of your cooked cakes and pies.
- butter or lard work very well
- margarine and other manufactured greases are not recommended.
- ground nut (peanut) oil has excellent release properties
- olive oil tends to stick
nb – ground nut oil is not suitable for anyone who suffers from a nut allergy, and lard (pork fat) is forbidden by some religions.
Alan Silverwood Cake Tins – must be washed by hand
They must never be washed in a dishwasher – only ever wash by hand!
This is not as onerous as it sounds, Alan Silverwoods cake tins are very easy to clean!
- wash in warm soapy water
- use a dish brush or a double sided sponge
- on most occasions this is all you will need to do
- sometimes cake mixture may burn on to the pan
- just soak the pan in warm water for a while, before washing
- dry with a soft cloth
